Ngahere (Yrs 3/4)
In Ngahere we build on skills learnt to grow increasingly independent learners. We celebrate the individual strengths and achievements of each ākonga while building a strong team culture. All ākonga are supported to flourish all three of their kete each and every day and are given opportunities to celebrate these successes with their peers, kaiako and whānau.
Ahakoa he aha te rākau he hua kei roto – no matter the species of the tree, each bears its own unique fruit. Celebrate diversity.
Growing Learners:
Ākonga are encouraged to take risks and be brave with their learning. Our Knowledge kete are flourished through strong Literacy programmes using Structured Literacy and teaching from The Code, and Mathematics programmes using The Learner First and Math No Problem. Ākonga are given many learning opportunities to work alongside kaiako, with peers and individually.

Personal Development
Ākonga are supported in developing positive relationships with peers through Kete Time on Friday, Term celebrations, sports events such as Cross Country, Athletics day and Have a Go sports day and the Year 4 sleepover and whole class Big Day Out. Ākonga are taught how to be/do their best by identifying their strengths with whānau voice and reflection. We encourage and support the increasing skills of self managing their personal belongings and following class routines.
