Nga Manu Nui (Yr 2/3)
Learning is a Journey
We actively encourage our Ngā Manu Nui ākonga to be risk takers and to be respectful. Learning is a journey and a process, and in Ngā Manu Nui we guide our learners as they move towards taking greater responsibility for managing themselves, their belongings and our shared environment. Through the Three Kete we support our tamariki emotionally, physically and academically to be the very best that they can be.
Instructional Programme
Our instructional programme is where foundation skills in the core curriculum areas are taught through small groups, whole class and targeted instruction. We use a variety of teaching approaches including visual, aural, physical, verbal and social to ensure that all learners have opportunities to succeed and to show their learning.
Inquiry
Each term we have a learning context in which our learning tasks focus around. We explore these through The Arts, Science, Technology and Play-Based Learning. Our tamariki have opportunities to drive their own learning by engaging with resources and activities that are chosen to stimulate curiosity, encourage teamwork and to deepen our learners’ understanding of the world around them.
